The Bucks got back on track
after the London Tournament with a twin bill against the Mapleleafs. Game
one was a pitched battle, both teams digging in and picking of the hits and
runs whenever possible. Ernie Ayala pitched a solid game with many K's, his
arm holding out till the end, even though this game went an extra inning,
being tied at 7 each after 7. The Bucks hung tough in the eighth, allowing
nothing to the visitors in the top of the inning, and showing patience at
the plate to allow the winning run to be walked home by the struggling
Leaf's reliever. Game one to Northampton, 8 - 7.
Game two was a different
story, Northampton absolutely unable to put anything meaningful together at
anytime during the game. An embarrassing 23 - 9 route ensued, and the day
was split between the two teams.
